The compliment arrived in the best manner for compliments to arrive: unexpected.

An article posted this morning on the website of the human rights advocacy group Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB) used some of my reporting.

This is an advocacy group with which I have no contacts, but I have often cited its work in my articles about the nightmare that the nation of Bahrain is quickly becoming.

The group used an article from April in which I interviewed an individual with reliable information about Raif Badawi’s life in prison in Saudi Arabia in an article in which it reminded its followers that he still languishes in prison.

Because I have no contacts with the organization, I did not know it was going to be used until it came across my “Raif Badawi” news feed during the night. It was a small bit of positive reinforcement, but this website sometimes receives more comments that it should mind its own business than it receives compliments.
